To deliver an efficient link management experience, we collect specific categories of information:
When you sign in via third-party authentication (such as Clerk), we receive basic public profile information including your full name, email address, and profile photo.
URLs, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, tags, category labels, and timestamps for the links you save and manage in your Selink workspace.
When you add a link, our server fetches public website metadata (OpenGraph tags, HTML title, images, and favicons) to generate link preview cards.
The Selink Extension reads the active tab's URL and page title only when you explicitly save a link to your Selink account.
3. How We Use Your Information
We process your data strictly for legitimate operational purposes:
- Core Workspace: Organizing, searching, categorizing, and rendering your saved links across your devices.
- Real-time Synchronization: Keeping your saved links updated seamlessly between the web app and extension.
- Smart AI Enhancements: Analyzing metadata for automatic category suggestions and smart tagging via Google GenKit AI.
- Security & Reliability: Monitoring system health, fixing bugs, and preventing unauthorized access.
4. Data Storage & Security
We enforce strict security practices to keep your data safe. All data in transit is encrypted using standard TLS/HTTPS encryption protocols.
Your link collection is stored in encrypted cloud database infrastructure (LibSQL / Turso Cloud). User authentication and session access are managed securely by Clerk.
Strict database isolation rules ensure that your saved content can only be accessed by your authenticated account.
5. Third-Party Services
We NEVER sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share data with essential third-party service providers required to deliver Selink:
- Clerk: Identity management and secure user authentication.
- LibSQL / Turso: Cloud database storage.
- Google AI (GenKit): Metadata analysis without storing your content for public model training.
6. Your Rights & Data Control
You maintain full control over your data at all times:
Remove or update any link, tag, or category instantly inside your dashboard.
Download a complete copy of your workspace data in .selink (JSON) format anytime.
Request permanent account and workspace deletion by contacting our team.
